No.(3) Heavy Industries Enterprise is one of the State-Owned Enterprise under Ministry of Industry.
Textile Industries Corporation was 1972.
In 1989, the name of Textile Industries Corporation was changed into Myanma Textile Industries.
In 2012, the name of Myanma Textile Industries was changed into Textile Industries.
In
2015, Textile Industries(TI) is combined with Paper and Home Utility
Industries (PHUI) and today it is formed as No.(3) Heavy Industries
Enterprise(HIE-3)
To encourage the private sector in Myanmar,
No.(3) Heavy Industries Enterprises is trying to do Joint-venture with
local/ foreign investors.
Textile factories under HIE-3 are totally equipped with 270720 spindles and 5405 looms.
These
factories produce different kinds of products such as grey yarns, grey
fabrics, bleached, dyed and printed fabrics, men’s wears, knitted wears,
mosquito netting, sewing threads and jean fabrics.
To control the quality of the products, there is a Development Centre for Textile Technology (DCTT) under HIE-3.
The
total workforce of HIE-3 is over 16000. HIE-3 is headed by a Managing
Director and Board of Directors represent in administration and
management, engineering and design, contractors and suppliers.
